Administration, actuarial and consulting for employee health, life, accident, dental, disability, etc. and retiree medical plans. Responsibilities may include actuarial valuations, plan design, claim analysis, network development, government reporting, compliance, special studies, investment services, investment policy, asset allocation, performance measurement, business proposals and cultivating new clients.

Principal

Houston, TX

Market-facing Principal must bring fire, passion and imagination to create bold, innovative and distinct Client solutions, resulting in reduction of healthcare financial trends. Principal is responsible for contributing to the revenue growth and financial performance of the H&W Practice, including developing new Health and Welfare business with emphasis on 10,000+ lives organizations.

• Act as senior advisor and expert subject matter resource to large Clients.
• Participate in the financial success by being a major contributor to marketing, product development, and thought leadership efforts, with at least 350 annual billable hours, contributing 15+% annually to the earnings before interest and taxes.
• Responsible for generating $1M new business each year.
• Provide guidance and direction to associates ensuring work focus is correct and work is delivered on time, on budget, at the highest quality standards, ensuring Client engagements are efficiently staffed.
• Responsible for the overall quality of service provided to clients including quality and timeliness of work, professional client relationships and appropriate billings.
• Introduce other lines of business to existing clients and effectively coordinate delivery of all resources.
• Responsible for maintaining profitability of all accounts.
• Assist the local practice leader to develop strategic business plans for the local practice to support the strategic direction and local markets.
• Maintain awareness of industry, market and competitive trends to leverage services provided and to aggressively grow revenue.
• Attract and motivate high quality employees.
• Work closely with HR, Finance and other internal functions to coordinate operations and support services provided to the H&W Practice, promoting teamwork within the organization.
• Provide H&W services to clients of other Account Executives as requested.

Experience Needed:

10+ years of progressively responsible positions in employee benefits consulting with a consulting firm.
• Perceived as a leader throughout the industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to negotiate contracts, prepare and make sales presentations and effectively interact with clients and staff.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, listening and management skills.
• Excellent team player with willingness to manage remote and virtual staff.

Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Business Administration or Human Resources, Masters preferred.
CEBS designation preferred and participation in a professional organization specific to business a plus.

Salary: 200K to 250K + 40% target bonus (based upon experience & knowledge)
